OUTREACH COMMISSION

Mission Statement

The Outreach Commission coordinates the ministries of pastoral care, social services, peace and justice and evangelization.  Its scope includes outreach to both the parish membership and the community at large.

The following committees and groups assist the Outreach Commission fulfill its mission:
Welcome: To Be Developed.

Evangelization: provides support, resources and opportunities for parishioners and non –parishioners to strengthen and become more informed about the Catholic faith.

Bereavement: provides spiritual and grief support to those parishioners and their families who are dealing with the loss of a loved one.

Peace and Justice: mission is to educate and support ourselves and others as we respond to our call to apply Gospel values and Catholic Social teaching to our everyday lives – locally, nationally and internationally.

Prison Ministry: To Be Developed

BeFrienders: a listening ministry whereby lay ministers are trained to listen with a caring presence to those who are hurting due to physical, emotional or spiritual distress/losses. 

Homebound Ministry: represents the faith community of St. Michael by being a witness to God’s presence and to develop a personal relationship with the “shut-in.”
