COMMUNITY LIFE COMMISSION

Mission Statement

The Community Life Commission seeks to build a deeper sense of Christian community for all ages and interest groups in the parish through various social groups and activities.

The following committees or groups assist the Community Life Commission in fulfilling its mission:

Parish Social Life: coordinates a variety of activities and gatherings throughout the year that help promote friendship and good will among parishioners.

Knights of Columbus: works to support the Church and parish activities.

Squires: a youth introduction to the Knights of Columbus.

Prayer Groups: provide opportunities for a variety of devotional practices in small group environments.

Centering Prayer: A Christian meditative practice that prepares one to receive the Spirit by consenting to God’s presence and action within oneself.  This listening prayer is meant to enrich and compliment personal and communal prayer.

Funeral Dinners: fulfill a special function of preparing and serving food in a respectful and understanding manner to families and friends following funeral services.

Supper Club: a unique way to get to know other parishioners in a relaxed social atmosphere. Small groups meet in homes to share a meal, friendship and laughter.

Golden Girls: a social group open to women of all ages who are interested in forming friendships and providing support to each other.

Prayer Chain: a system to inform members of a prayer group that their prayers are needed for a specific situation.
